About That Jealousy

It has come to my attention (a few weeks ago) that my blog is being read by some girls who have jealousy issues. For that reason alone, as you have all noticed, I am going to be taking a break from posting my wedding plans on here.

I apologize that jealous sweet-baby-faced girls are taking the fun away from you all.

Karma, that's all I'm saying.

Bridesmaid Dresses!

My biggest struggle so far with wedding planning has definitely been Bridesmaids dresses. For the style of wedding we are having, the dresses have been a challenge, mix that with the fact that I want my bridesmaids to be happy and NOT poor, and well that makes for a rough time for any bride to be!

Let me back up for a minute and tell you a personal experience. A friend that was very near and dear to my heart was getting married once and she forced (yes, forced) me to buy the bridesmaid dress a YEAR in advance of her wedding; now the year part isn't so bad, I understand how exciting it is..the part that gets me was the cost of the dress $250! Yup, she made me drop $250 on a dress a year before her wedding...For a wedding that she ended up calling off. So I was left with a hideous dress and out $250.  Anyway, I remember my resentment over being asked to shell out $250 for a dress that I would only ever wear once. I don't want to do that to my friends! I wouldn't dream of it! And that is what has made finding pretty but affordable dresses SO difficult!

I searched sites like Lulu's, Charlotte Russe, Forever21, Windsor, basically all affordable dress stores that I could think of, and came up empty handed each time. So bummed! That's when, but truly lucky circumstances I came across the fact that Target (YES! target!!) sells super cute bridesmaid dresses, for only...wait for it...$69.99!!! ahhh *cartwheels*

I can't wait to send this off to my beautiful bridesmaids and let them go crazy picking out their dresses! :) In keeping with the theme that I want them all to be happy with their dress I have decided to let them pick any style they want within the colors I choose! :) Oh happy day!

HOLD THE PHONE- NEW WEDDING DATE

November 23, 2013 is now our NEW and improved Wedding date! We really felt that February 2014 was such a huge time away, and February 2013 was WAY too close...and since we live in South Florida, basically the only times that are manageable for an outdoor wedding would be the months of November-February....and thus we decided to bump our date up by a few months and we are now getting hitched on November 23, 2013! WE ARE SUPER EXCITED ABOUT THIS! :)

In other news, the newly improved wedding date also needed some more winter-y colors...and so I updated the color pallet to colors that I feel will be more instyle in the up coming year. We decided to go from grays and yellows and navy blues to a festive Peacock inspired pallet that includes rich turquoise, slate black, and lime green. Lucky for my beautiful bridesmaids, these colors also happen to be super in right now so those bridesmaids dresses will be a snap!!

I have a metric ton to update on this blog, and I will hop on that tonight, I promise! <3

Wedding Colors!

We I picked out our wedding colors!! It was a little bit of a challenge since we were originally wanting a fall wedding, I've always wanted a fall wedding, preferably in October since thats my favorite month...But with how the weather has been down here in Florida, we decided that an end of winter wedding would be best! SO, I had to completely switch gears from an orange and gray wedding suitable for fall, and find a beautiful wintery pallet for February! I decided on Marine Blue, Yellow and gray-and Ryan agreed on the colors YAY!
Here is another color pallet that shows our colors pretty decently. I am excited to have the colors picked out! With having the colors decided, it gives us tons of open doors to plan what comes next!

Also, side note, I have been busy designing save the dates and invitations in Photoshop! I will post a preview of them soon!!

The Website!

Ryan and I have been busy pouring over wedding things online. I can't help it!! Can you blame me? Seriously, can you? The first thing I did was setup an account on The Knot , which has been an enormous help...and also an enormous discouragement. It shows me a ton of wedding vendors in my area...and it shows me the LONGGGGGGG list of things I need to do! I tend to click really fast past that page.

One of the best features of being a member of The Knot, is my free wedding website that I got to set up!! I plan to put our website on the bottom of our invitations and have guests rsvp through it! Having guests RSVP through the website will save us me a TON of money on invitations, because there will be no need for RSVP cards! And that lady and gentlemen is how I cut corners.

I have been busy working on the invitations too...and I would show them in this post, but I think I will save that for the next one! If you know us in real life, feel free to fb me for our wedding website link!!!
